"In my work, the animals are very important, they are my inspiration. And motive.
My work is inspired not only the animals that live with me, but the entire universe.
The latest work I do, is about horses, birds and people. Often a confluence of them.
The horse is a naturally friendly animal and we must never be like jailers to them - but we often are.
A horse is a prey animal; in nature he should be food for he big cats. A horse is a pretty animal, resident of the great plains: we as humans have tamed him, and yet we are the best of friends.
This intrigues me, the spirit of a horse intrigues me.
By contrast, the Raptor tops the food chain, he eats and do not get eaten, the only enemy that the raptor has is man. This bird can to unprecedented heights fly and see the universe. ... but a Raptor is not a naturally friendly animal, otherwise he does not eat.
We are exceptions.
A human hand has the choice, we eat and can not be eaten. But do have the choice: to be friendly or unfriendly. We only fall prey to our own species.
We can choose whether we are scavengers or hunters. Many of us let others kill in order for us to eat; some of us make the choice not to do so.
And yet, amongst these three types of living arrangements - prey, predator and scavenger -together we find proud individualism and strength."
